​A Snippet about "Home"

Since I'm making a film about home, this seems like the right starting place.

 

​​... So, I’ve just come back from the East Coast and walk into the home I’ve been in for the past three years. It’s been wonderful, but I’ve always felt a lack of light coming in, and it’s been cold without a southern exposure.

 

I walk in and I say to myself, “OK it’s time to look for a new place.” Before I even unpack my bags, I reboot on Redfin, which I hadn’t touched for 3 1/2 years…. And right away a place comes up that 1. not only has southern exposure, but 2. also has double height ceilings, 3. a separate office space overlooking the living room, 4. a fireplace,  5. central heating and air and 6. 3 balconies!!!

NONE of which I had in my current place, and ALL of which I was missing… and it’s still in the neighborhood I love and even a bit closer to the sand in Venice! So I acted on it.

 

The Synchrondipity in this is not only did I go for it, but also, since it had been on the market for three weeks or so,  the owner had just that day reduced the price. Because I was first in line, inspire of all the requests they got, magically it became mine! 

 

So within a month of coming back from my trip, I took on a completely unexpected move, but it was to a place that is truly perfect!
